SONG REVIEW: Texaco by Homes at Night

By: Emily Bates | May 2nd, 2023

Nashville based pair Hank and Aksel of Homes at Night recently released a new song titled Texaco.

The song is a rhythmic with a sentimental feel, and a soft gentle feel. It’s comforting and allows you to feel like you can listen to this song on repeat without it ever getting old.

The change from comforting upbeat melody to the slowed down ending really puts an emphasis on the chorus and adds a really cool element to an already catchy song.

Songwriter Hank said that this song was written with the perspective of “an unhealthy relationship that emphasized his own addiction “. And with the lyrics “we’re not kids anymore, you’ve got a job and I’ve got somebody at home”, it shows that as adults we have responsibilities that make it essential that we make better choices, if not for ourselves, for the ones we love.

Through the lyrics you can really feel how they are tired of being this way and are ready for something new, and to heal.

Their music really hits close to home, and I’m so excited to hear what else they come out with!

The song released on April 28th and is available on all platforms!

Check them out at a tour date near you!
