Our host for the night, Taylor Swift. Despite the down pouring rain, Taylor pushed through and put on the show of a lifetime at Gillette Stadium on May 20th. The crowd was buzzing with anticipation of what might come as Swifties consider rain shows some of the best shows to be able to attend. Taylor seamlessly moved from era to era, telling the story of her entire career over the span of three hours.
At 8pm Taylor took the stage with “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince'' as she welcomed fans to the stadium with “It’s been a long time coming, but it’s you and me, that’s my whole world.” 2018 was the last time Swift toured, so this sentiment was a message to the fans. The Entire Eras Tour was Taylor’s love letter to her fans, as she put her all into every era covered. Between costume changes and extremely practiced choreography, Swift made sure to craft an unforgettable night for every fan.
Throughout the night Taylor shared many memorable moments with her fans. While Taylor was performing the “evermore” section of the night she sat down at her moss-covered piano, ready to perform “champagne problems.” As Swift approached the bridge, fans around the entire stadium chimed in to join her, singing the lyrics in unison. Taylor passionately finished the rest of the song as the entire stadium broke out in a cheer. For several moments Taylor sat back and listened to the fans, taking out her earpiece to better hear the Swifties. As the rain poured down, Taylor thanked her fans for the love and support during the show.
Throughout her performance, Taylor continued to share her gratitude for the support. During the “Red” era Taylor donned a t-shirt stating “A LOT GOING ON AT THE MOMENT,” which was a play on her iconic “NOT A LOT GOING ON AT THE MOMENT” shirt made famous during the Red era. Paired with this memorable shirt was a black hat. While performing “22 (Taylor’s Version)” Swift paused to gift this black hat to a young fan seated at the end of the catwalk. She then returned to her practiced choreography as she joined in on a kickline with her backup dancers. Due to the rain, Taylor and her dancers kicked up splashes of water on the stage, adding to the special moment Swift had made with the fan.
All in all, The Eras Tour was a highly rehearsed and entertaining show. Taylor made sure to share the love with her devoted fans as she soaked in the support in person for the first time since 2018. If you are lucky enough to secure tickets to this tour, it’s not a show you would want to miss.
